Good 👍Posted on Google Kelly LundquistTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The day after Christmas, on December 26, 2024, I experienced a devastating house fire. The fire started in my living room and burned long enough that smoke filled my entire home, making it unlivable and requiring a complete remodel. Shortly after the fire, Andrew from Capital Construction was one of the very first people on the scene. At a time of devastation, high emotions, and uncertainty, Andrew provided reassurance, kindness, and genuine empathy. As the main contractor, he was never pushy or focused on selling Capital Construction’s services. While multiple contractors were driving by and leaving business cards, Andrew’s calm professionalism and compassion made Capital Construction my clear first choice. During the first few months, Andrew maintained constant and consistent communication, keeping me fully informed every step of the way. Soon after, I met Nick, who was in charge of handling the contents inside my home. Like Andrew, Nick went above and beyond — always communicating clearly and making sure I knew what was happening and when. He and his crew even took the initiative to gather items of personal or financial importance, such as credit cards, IDs, photos, and jewelry and get them to me immediately. Andrew and Nick also referred me to other companies that matched their same level of professionalism. Tom from Hamlet Dry Cleaning is a perfect example — he and his team went above and beyond to help my family regain a sense of normalcy during such a difficult time. Melissa at Capital Construction was incredibly helpful in coordinating communication between the insurance company, Andrew, and me. The entire team was flexible, responsive, and understanding when it came to navigating insurance payments and documentation — even helping send insurance checks to my parents, who are on the deed but live out of town. As the months passed and the remodel came together, I was introduced to Chris, the Project Manager, who continued the same excellent level of communication. Tayler was an absolute joy to work with — we spent nearly two hours together choosing every detail, from door knobs and light fixtures to fans, faucets, and sinks. Her patience, attention to detail, and design insight made the process enjoyable despite the circumstances. When the remodel was complete, I walked into what felt like a brand-new home. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations. Nick’s team remained responsive and respectful when addressing final touch-ups, and the entire Capital Construction staff continued to offer support even after the project was done. While it’s bittersweet to see our collaboration come to an end, I’m forever grateful for the compassion, professionalism, and excellence that Capital Construction brought to such a difficult chapter of my life. I 100% recommend Capital Construction to anyone in need of a home remodel or restoration. They turned my disaster into a fresh start — and treated me like family every step of the way.Posted on Google Adrienne JohnsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had major water damage in our kitchen and got connected with Capital Construction through our insurance. They were super communicative and walked me through what to expect. Once the floor was dried and repaired, they gave us a 3-week timeline to rebuild—and stuck to it. They even found asbestos and coordinated with a removal service and our insurance. The job's done now, and we're really happy with how it turned out. Great team, great results.Posted on Google Candice TennysonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Capital Construction did an outstanding job repairing our home from water damage. Work included replacing a tile floor in a bathroom, rebuilding a cabinet, installing all new hardwoods and molding on the first floor plus extensive interior painting. An incredible amount of work employing numerous specialists! We were fortunate to have Adam Wyatt and Chris Goetz supervising and managing the estimates, schedules and work processes. They even filled in and did specialty work themselves to keep the process moving. They were also fun to work with. Laughter rather than tiers is needed is needed for home repairs of this size! I highly recommend this company!
Our certified technicians address each layer of damage, including what is visible and what is not. Our fire restoration services include:
Even after firefighters leave, compromised structural elements and hazardous air quality are not always obvious. Smoke and soot are still causing damage while you wait. Reaching out as soon as possible gives us the best chance of protecting as much of your home as we can. From the moment we arrive, we start gathering the details to support your insurance claim and keep your recovery on track.
Intense heat compromises building materials in ways that are not visible to the eye. A thorough structural assessment before any repairs begin is essential to doing the job safely.
Smoke travels through ventilation systems and into wall cavities, settling onto every porous surface throughout the entire home. Surface cleaning alone is never sufficient.
Soot is acidic. Left untreated, it continues breaking down finishes, fabrics, and building materials. Speed in removal directly affects what can be saved.
Extinguishing a fire requires a significant amount of water that saturates flooring, travels behind wall coverings, and soaks into insulation. Addressing this water damage is a critical part of every fire restoration project we take on.
1
Exposed openings are secured so outside elements cannot add to the damage, and the structure is safe for our crew to work in.
2
We determine where heat, smoke, and water have traveled inside your property.
3
Damaged materials are cleared out, protecting intact areas and giving our crew full access to everything that needs treatment and repair.
4
We adjust our approach based on the surface type to effectively remove residue without causing additional damage to salvageable materials.
5
We treat smoke odor at its source using professional air purification and targeted surface cleaning, not products that only mask the problem temporarily.

Our Capital Construction division is available for all structural repairs and finish work so your home looks, functions, and feels the way it did before the fire.
Understanding what starts most residential fires can help protect your family going forward.
Our team responds most often to fires caused by:
Smoke particles and soot that remain in a home after a fire are actively harmful. Without professional removal, they continue to circulate in the air and settle on surfaces long after the event.
Fire restoration must be done in the correct sequence. Residue left on surfaces continues to corrode. Unaddressed moisture leads to mold. Getting it right from the start protects everything that follows.
After a fire, untreated areas of the home may become an issue down the road. Our expert team has the knowledge and professional equipment you need on your side.

The timeline depends on the extent of the damage. We will provide a clear timeline after our assessment.
In most cases, yes. Professional cleaning and deodorization methods can remove smoke residue and odors from affected materials. The sooner restoration begins, the better the results.
We recommend waiting until a professional inspection has been completed. Smoke residue, poor air quality, and structural damage may not always be visible but can pose safety risks.
